Effective date: 16 September 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Tessera 168 iOS application (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information. It applies to the App and to the whole of the Ioniclabs website, this page included. It does not apply to Apple's services, which are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not collect, receive or have access to any of the following: your name, email address, phone number, Apple Account, payment details, device identifiers, IP address, precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, health data, usage statistics, crash reports, or the content you create in the App.
The App contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting
frameworks. Its privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) declares no
tracking, no tracking domains and no collected data types, and the App Store product
page shows “Data Not Collected”.
To function, the App keeps a single data file in its private container on your iPhone. It contains:
iOS protects this file with file-level encryption and includes it in your own iCloud or computer backup under the same rules as every other app's data; we cannot read those backups.
The iCloud copy. So that deleting the App or changing phones does not lose your record, the App also keeps a compressed copy of this same file in the private database of your own iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit). It is written automatically after you edit and read back when you install the App on a phone signed in to the same Apple Account. This copy is stored by Apple, under your Apple Account, and is readable only by you: it is not a server of ours, we have no access to it, and it is not data we collect. It can be switched off at any time in Settings › Privacy › iCloud backup; switching it off deletes the copy, and Delete all data deletes it too. If iCloud is turned off on the phone, or your iCloud storage is full, the App simply keeps working on the device and says so under that switch.
The App requests a system permission only at the moment a feature needs it, never at launch. Every feature below is optional, and declining a permission does not affect the rest of the App.
| Permission | When it is requested | How it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone and Speech Recognition | When you start a voice note | Speech is transcribed on your device using Apple's on-device recogniser. The App requires on-device recognition and refuses to record in a language whose on-device model is not installed, rather than send audio to a server. No audio is saved; only the resulting text is kept as the hour's note. |
| Notifications | When you turn on an alarm for an hour or the reminder for unfinished hours | Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server and no remote notification. |
The App does not request access to contacts, calendars, photos, camera, location, health, motion, Bluetooth or the local network.
Tessera Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription and as a one-time purchase, both sold exclusively through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details, name, email or Apple Account. The App queries StoreKit only to learn whether the current Apple Account is entitled to Pro, and that answer is stored locally.
Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on your device. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Purchases are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and this App's Terms of Use.
The App integrates no third-party services. The only external party involved in its operation is Apple, through iOS system frameworks (StoreKit, UserNotifications, Speech, CloudKit) that run on your device and, for the iCloud copy, Apple's iCloud service under your own Apple Account. Links inside the App open only this policy, the support page, and the Terms of Use.
The website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no login. It does load two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser fetches those files from Google's servers and Google's servers see the request, as they would for any site that uses them. Nothing else on the page comes from anywhere but this site, and we receive no record of your visit.
Because no data is transmitted to or stored by us, there is no server-side data of ours to secure. On the device, the App relies on iOS data protection: its container is encrypted at rest and is inaccessible to other apps. The iCloud copy is protected by Apple under the security of your Apple Account, in transit and at rest, as described in Apple's iCloud security documentation.
Your data is retained on your device for as long as you keep it. Inside the App, Settings › Privacy offers:
Deleting the App from your device removes its container; the iCloud copy, if on, remains in your iCloud until you switch it off, delete all data, or remove the App's data in iOS Settings › Apple Account › iCloud. There is nothing for us to delete on request, because we hold nothing.
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. It contains no user-generated content visible to other people, no chat and no social features.
Under privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data and to object to its processing. Since we do not collect or process any personal data, there is nothing we hold to which these rights could apply; all of your data is already in your possession on your device, and the Export and Delete controls in Section 9 let you exercise full control over it. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will respond.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the App or in applicable law. The effective date at the top will change accordingly, and the current version will always be available at this address. Because the App collects no data, no change can apply retroactively to information we hold.
